Thomas Maarup
Founder of Raduno — and the one writing here
I hold a master's degree in mathematics and philosophy from the University of Southern Denmark, and I started my IT career working with geodata and data standardisation at the Danish Ministry of Science.
I was inspired to build Raduno at Roskilde Festival, where it struck me how badly equipped we are to explain to each other where we're standing. The first prototype wasn't a map but a compass needle pointing at a friend, however the two of us moved around. Everything has since grown out of that one experience.
On this blog I write about what the work actually consists of: direction, compasses that lie, and why a map stops helping precisely when you get close.
